We’re Ecotricity and we became the founders of the global green energy supply movement when we were founded by Dale Vince OBE in 1995 as the first energy supplier to offer customers green energy. Since then, as well as being an energy supplier to businesses across the UK, we’ve been committed to ending the use of fossil fuels by building windmills and funding other green projects nationwide.

We believe that this is what makes us different from other energy companies, including the ‘green’ ones. By building new wind and sun parks across the country, we have been increasing the amount of renewables in Britain, rather than just trading what already exists.

We are also a part of the Green Britain Group, which was founded on the mission of decarbonising the three areas of life that make up 80% of the typical person’s carbon footprint: energy, transport and food – while making room for nature. This is shown in the Group’s portfolio, which includes Forest Green Rovers – described by FIFA as the “greenest football club in the world” – and Skydiamond, which makes diamonds from captured carbon.

All of this means that harnessing our 100% green electricity and carbon neutralised gas is one of the best ways in which any business can reduce their impact on the environment. The more businesses who join us, the more we can do towards our mission of eliminating fossil fuels.
